Happened into El Honky Tonk looking for some wobble pop and country music. We we’re almost immediately greeted by the owners James Sr and James Jr. who welcomed and thanked us for coming in. We learned that the bar had only been open for about 2 weeks (June 2022). We enjoyed El Honky Tonk so much we went back every day of our stay and are planning another trip to San Antonio next year just to see the growth. I suspect it will be tremendous based on the warmth of the owners!

We wanted a quiet place to finish our day! We walked in and immediately felt the comfort and ambiance. Miss Edith has amazing customer service, made us so welcome and our drinks were so delicious! . The live music was enjoyable to listen and sing. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be coming back!

As from what a Korean guy can tell, a nice country ambiance bar. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and a place my wife enjoyed having drinks with friends.

Very nice bae. Love the decorations. Fair pricing. Parking is not free but paid parking is available across the building.

Such a great atmosphere! Best country bar i’ve been to in the SA. Staff is mega friendly, music is on point including the sound system. Drinks are awesome! the live talent is always great. Im a huge Urban Cowboy and George Strait fan! The place is the place to be.

Fun country bar with live music at night and great crowd. Perfect if you’re in the mood for some country music and there’s also a food truck outside that looked like it sold pretty decent brisket. Highly recommend for a night out or if you’re visiting SA!

I did a Google search for San Antonio bars with live country music and El Honky Tonk came up. It's a neighborhood bar just a little off the tourist traffic areas. So glad I went - got there around 2:00 and stayed till closing time. Patrons were great, music was perfect AND the bartender was amazing - she was super friendly and super efficient & professional! I so enjoy watching a bartender work a busy bar - multi-tasking, networking, and the ability to continually smile & laugh. High recommended this watering hole ... the beer is COLD.

What an awesome bar! From the staff to the live music here! You can tell they really hold their live performers to a higher standard. Always a great time! It’s a true Honky Tonk vibe!
